Hi! This website hosts some info on my PhD research as well as a technical-type blog where I post about statistics, data science, and related computing issues. This site is under major construction as of August 2018, as I migrate sites. For best results, see the site I’m migrating from.

I am a PhD statistician and data scientist with experience in private and corporate consulting. I have extensive experience in Bayesian modeling and am comfortable working with a wide variety of statistical models. I did my PhD in statistics at Duke’s Department of Statistical Science, advised by Scott Schmidler. Before grad school I worked in as an actuarial analyst in Charlotte, NC and pension benefits consultant in Shanghai, China. In Charlotte I mostly worked on valuations of pension plans and post-retirement medical plans, as well as retirement benefit calculations for our clients’ individual employees. In China I helped multinational corporations navigate the Chinese retirement benefits market and build benefits packages for their China-bound expat employees.
